Made in Bangladesh (Bengali: Shimu) is a 2019 Bangladeshi drama film directed by Rubaiyat Hossain. It premiered in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, following the participation at BFI London Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival and other major festivals. Distributed by Pyramide Films, the film was widely released in France on 4 December 2019 and running for several months following the theatrical release worldwide including USA, Canada, Denmark, Portugal, Germany, China, Mexico, Singapore, Australia, Turkey, Bangladesh and Japan.
Plot: A textile worker fights for employee rights after a co-worker is killed in a fire at her factory. Shimu, 23, works in a clothing factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Faced with difficult conditions at work, she decides to start a union with her co-workers. Despite threats from the management and disapproval of her husband, Shimu is determined to go on. Together the women must fight and find a way.

Synopsis: Ela a bereaved mother, wants to leave the house of her husband and start an independent life of her own. She's the daughter of a cabaret dancer, who once had an affair with the owner of an iconic theatre in North Calcutta, called Sarkarina (the first revolving stage in Asia, owned by Amar Ghosh). Ela's step-brother, Bubu lives alone in the now abandoned theatre. Unable to secure a bank loan to buy a house of her own, Ela uses her boss, owner of a ponzi- scheme to get what she wants. Soon, however, she realizes that she's not the only scavenger in a city hungry for more.

Under Construction is a 2015 Bengali narrative feature film written and directed by Rubaiyat Hossain.

Kingdom of Clay Subjects is a dramatic family film directed by Imtiaz Ahmed Bijan. The film was released in Bangladesh on 23 March 2018. The film participated in more than 20 international film festivals, including the Seattle International Film Festival in the United States, the South Asian Film Festival in Chicago, the Karawan Film Festival in Italy, and the Royal Bali Film Festival in Indonesia. The film won the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature Film at the South Asian Film Festival.

Plot: The story of the film centers around the youth Ruhul, who lives with his family in a small hut next to the runway of the international airport. His mother Rahima struggles to support the family by selling milk from a cow bought with a micro credit loan. His sister Fatima works long hours in a garments factory. There's been no word from their father for over a month, since he left for a job in the Middle East. A Madras dropout, Ruhul spends his days wandering under the shadow of the planes, aimless and frustrated in his futile efforts to find work. One day at a cyber- cafe; he meets Arif, a computer savvy young man who exudes confidence and a sense of purpose. The world Arif introduces him to seems inspiring and new, but eventually Ruhul's life spirals into a nefarious netherworld of intolerance, violence and ultimately, death...
