Biography

Reekita Nondine Shimu is an internationally renowned Bangladeshi actress who portrayed Shimu in the film "Made in Bangladesh." She won the Best Actress Award at the Festival de Saint-Jean-de-Luz in France in 2019 for her film "Made in Bangladesh." Tareque Masud, Rubaiyat Hossain, Morteza Atash Zamzam, and Aditya Vikram Sengupta are just a few of the renowned international directors she has worked with. She began acting at the theatre at the young age of six. She has acted in films, web series, and television series of many genres throughout the past decade, beginning with her first feature in 2010. Reekita Nondini Shimu most enjoys performing classical dance, and at the age of 14, she performed classical dance on National TV Channel.

Plot: A textile worker fights for employee rights after a co-worker is killed in a fire at her factory. Shimu, 23, works in a clothing factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Faced with difficult conditions at work, she decides to start a union with her co-workers. Despite threats from the management and disapproval of her husband, Shimu is determined to go on. Together the women must fight and find a way.
